The follow up to the Google G1, the Samsung manufactured Nexus S, is available in the U.S. from today.
Google is touting it as a “pure Google phone” with hardware that promises a very fast user experience coupled with the latest Android 2.3 OS:

  • Android 2.3
  • Super AMOLED 4″ WVGA display (800 x 480)
  • 1GHz Cortex A8 (Hummingbird)
  • 1500mAH Lithium Ion battery (6 hours talk, 428 hours standby)
  • 512MB RAM
  • 16GB internal memory
  • 5 megapixel camera
  • microUSB 2.0 connection
  • Dimensions: 63 x 123.9 x 10.88 mm
  • Weight: 129 grams
Unlike the G1, the Nexus S is being made available at a major retailer and not just online. If you want one, both Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores have them available.
All the handsets are sold unlocked, so you can pick on up without a service plan for $529.99. Otherwise, you can sign-up with T-Mobile for 2 years and get the smartphone for $199.99
